Originally, the contest was scheduled for a 4:15 p.m. PT start time. However, the rain weather did not permit the game to begin at Truist Park. The game is now set to start three hours first pitch was supposed to be.
Manager Dave Roberts revealed both teams were “prepared to hunker down” and play Saturday, since neither squad wants to split a doubleheader Sunday.
The Dodgers will be without utility man Tommy Edman as he was placed on the injured list. Chris Taylor will play at second base Saturday for the Dodgers as Edman’s replacement.
Hyeseong Kim was called up by the Dodgers; however, Roberts said he is expected to come off the bench during his first stint in the big leagues.
